Preventive Care & Vaccination
Preventive care: a foundation for a longer life
Prevention is better than treatment. Scheduled vaccination, parasite prevention and annual health examinations help protect dogs and cats against serious infectious diseases and support health through every life stage.
Why does prevention need year-round attention?
In Thailand's warm, humid climate, ticks, fleas and mosquitoes can breed throughout the year and spread parasites such as heartworm. Regular prevention helps protect pets against blood-borne infections and other preventable diseases.
What does preventive care include?
During a health examination and treatment, the veterinarian checks different body systems to assess your pet's overall health, including:
- Combined canine vaccination: Canine distemper, hepatitis, parvovirus and leptospirosis
- Combined feline vaccination: Feline panleukopenia, cat flu and respiratory infections
- Rabies vaccination: Building immunity according to standard protocols for pets and families
- Tick, flea and ear-mite prevention: Topical and chewable options
- Heartworm prevention: Protecting the heart and lungs against a mosquito-borne parasite
- Intestinal deworming: Treatment for roundworms, tapeworms and intestinal parasites
- Nutrition guidance for each life stage: Diet planning for young, adult and senior pets
- Vaccination and health records: Recording appointments and reminders to support continuity of care
Preparing for a vaccination visit
Pets should be well, active, free of fever or lethargy and not acutely ill to support an effective immune response. Always tell the veterinarian about any previous reaction to medication or vaccines.
